Flour tortillas have been on my mind a lot lately. I’ve been in this breakfast burrito kick, making them every morning before I head into work. Which got me thinking: “How hard could it be to make my own flour tortillas?”. I mean, not only would it be fun to learn how to make them – I love making things with my hands – but I’m using them so frequently that it would probably be beneficial to my wallet as well. ($$ Bills!) Continue reading
I’ve recently found myself with an overabundance of bananas that have started turning to the dark side. (As you can probably tell from me featuring two banana recipes back-to-back. Haha. If you haven’t already checked it out, skip on over to last week’s recipe: Triple Chocolate Banana Muffins.) We just can’t seem to consume them fast enough. And just when I thought we didn’t have enough, I was gifted a bunch from a work function. SO. MANY. BANANAS. But fret not, instead of throwing out these little fellas, I used this as an opportunity to turn that banana frown upside down and finally tackle the obstacle of creating a delectable, moist banana bread from scratch. This week’s post is the result of doing some research and experimenting in the kitchen. I present unto you, my version of easy, moist banana bread with maple syrup! Continue reading
Good morning and happy Labor Day weekend! Please excuse the delay in posting, however I have a wonderful treat to make up for lost time: Triple Chocolate Banana Muffins! It’s a sinfully delicious sort of muffin, with three different forms of chocolate: small chocolate chips, regular sized chocolate chips, and cocoa powder. Combine that with some ripened bananas and it whips up a super tasty and hearty snack that you won’t be disappointed in! Continue reading
It’s Sunday morning and you’re trying to figure out what appetizing breakfast you want to feed the horde (aka the family). As they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and you want to start off the day for these little buggers with a pop of flavor! But you also don’t want to have to spend a whole lot of effort and time. Heard, loud and clear. That’s why these fluffy lemon blueberry pancakes are amazing! They are super quick to put together and don’t take long to cook. Which is nice when you want to change gears. Continue reading
Surprisingly, food is a big part of my life. (I know, complete shocker, right?!) Technically, it’s a big part of everyone’s life, as we need substance to fuel our bodies. However, I’m not just talking about a food for livelihood’s sake. I’m talking about the more adventurous side of food. The exploratory side, as it were. Which is why living in Spain was such an amazing experience!
Besides the culture and amazing sites, food was such a mind blowing experience when I lived there. With jamón iberico, cochinillo (baby pig) and a variety of tapas that would make your mouth salivate so much it would make Pavlov proud, it’s not hard to understand how someone could grow a spirit of culinary curiosity. That’s why I decided to tackle one recipe that I always loved ordering when I went out: Spanish Tortilla, also known as Tortilla Espanola! (Spanish accent required.) Continue reading
Happy Friday and a Happy Mother’s Day to all of those mother’s out there! I know it’s been awhile since our last encounter, but I hope all is well with everyone. I’ve missed blogging and trying out new recipes to share with everybody, but I had some unexpected medical issues arise and needed to tackle that first. #heartsurgery. Now that I’m back up Continue reading
A good morrow to you and happy Saturday!
I’ve been in a baking mood recently (if you haven’t noticed from last week’s post of Chocolate Banana Loaf). And as a result have decided to dedicate this week’s recipe to baking as well: Blueberry Lemon Loaf! I figure my previous posts were mostly savory, so why not spice things up a bit, eh? (I mean, who doesn’t enjoy a little spice in their life? The Spice Girls did, and it certainly worked for them. Now I’m dating myself….) Continue reading

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! I was able to spend some quality time with friends and family and eat a whole lot of amazing food, so I can’t complain. 🙂 Speaking of, we had SO many leftovers after Thanksgiving, which got me thinking: “What type of leftover recipes could I try out?” Since we are still in the realm of leftovers, this week’s recipe focuses on how to creatively utilize leftovers you may have in your fridge to create a Thanksgiving Breakfast!
